- Park closureFort Spokane boat launch & day use open; Campground open with some closuresFort Spokane Campground has re-opened to the public with minimal closures as of 8/14/2026. Sites 39, 40, 41, 50, and walk-in sites 64-68 will remain closed for the foreseeable future due to fire damage and hazard trees. Caution tape and closure signs have been posted for visitor safety. Please remain in open areas of the campground only. The Fort Spokane day use area and boat launch remain open. Please continue to use caution throughout these areas.

No open flames are permitted. Only self-contained propane or gas cookstoves and lanterns are allowed during the full fire ban.
- Park closureFort Spokane Museum and Visitor Center to Close for RepairsThe Fort Spokane Museum and Visitor Center in Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is temporarily closed for the duration of the summer for critical historic preservation repairs. Dating to 1880, the landmark building originally served as the fort's guardhouse and now operates as the primary hub to introduce visitors to the park and its many resources.
- Park closureHawk Creek Area Closed for 2026 Recreation SeasonThe Hawk Creek Campground and boat launch area will close to all public access starting April 16 through Oct. 6. The closure is necessary to keep visitors, staff, and construction crews safe during the Hawk Creek Road Improvements and Stabilization Project. It may be extended through Oct. 30, if needed. The project, managed by the Federal Highway Administration in partnership with Lincoln County and the National Park Service, will begin at the intersection of Hawk Creek Road and Miles Creston Road.

The park is open 24 hours per day, unless otherwise designated. Day use areas are open from dawn until dusk. Administrative buildings are closed to public.
Getting there
From Spokane Take I-90 West. At Exit 277, merge onto US-2 toward Davenport/Fairchild AFB/Spokane Airport. Just past Wilbur, turn right onto WA-21. Stay left onto Highway 174. Turn right onto WA-155. Stay on WA-155 past Grand Coulee Dam and into the town of Coulee Dam. Cross the Columbia River and continue on WA-155. Turn right onto Crest Drive and follow up the hill. The Headquarters Office is located on the left.
