“You must be on the water by Noon. Individuals who arrive later than this time may be denied permission to begin their trip. No refunds will be issued for late arrivals. This platform is located in Mizell Prairie on the yellow trail. Only three miles from the boat ramp at the Suwannee Canal Recreation Area (SCRA), this location is great for less experienced paddlers and/or families with children. Miles can easily be added by paddling through Chesser Prairie to the Tater Rake Run before heading to the campsite. With a 360 degree view of the prairie, there may be amazing opportunities for stargazing and viewing the sunrise and sunset. Cedar Hammock is a dual use shelter meaning that day-use paddlers are permitted to visit as long as they return to SCRA by the designated off the water time. You must, graciously, share the platform with day-users. Do not set up your full camp until 1.5 hours before off the water time. Please welcome and leave some space for day-users to enjoy the platform.”
