About
This campground sits among Ponderosa, Aspen, Spruce, Cottonwoods and juniper trees, and is composed of two loops, upper and lower. The lower loop is adjacent to the fast-moving Conejos River with some sites next to the river. This is a pleasant and attractive campground that is excellent for both the transient and destination camper. Juniper Group Picnic \ Camping Area is nearby. Firewood is not provided. There are 40 campsites (21 are pull-through) with tables and fireplaces and refuse receptacles for your convenience.Consider a day trip on the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad (steam) which offers a 64-mile journey through abandoned mining towns. One access to the train is in Antonito, CO, online Cumbres-Toltec Scenic Railroad, or call (719) 376-5483 for more information. Fees: Day Use: $12 per day Overnight Use: Single Site: $29 per night Double Site: $58 per night Group Site Juniper: $160 per night Group Site Pinyon: $90 per night Single or Double Site: $10 per night (during shoulder season)
