Logger Flat Group Campground is a short 2-mile drive from Hume Lake, one of the forest ' s most visited destinations at 5,600 feet elevation. Natural Features: The Sequoia National Forest is located at the southern end of the Sierra Nevada in central California. The forest is divided into three districts that comprise 1.1 million acres. The Hume Lake Ranger District, in which this campground is located, has elevations range from about 1,000 along the Kings River near Pine Flat Reservoir and to 11,000 feet, the peak of Mt Harrington. This land scape is home to 13 Sequoia Groves and the majestic Kings Canyon. Recreation: Several trails pass nearby, offering excellent hiking, and streams along the way provide trout fishing. At Lake Hume visitors enjoy swimming, non-motorized boating, fishing and hiking. The trails in the district are open to hikers, horses and bikes (however, bikes are not permitted in wilderness areas).Facilities: The campground offers one group site that can accommodate up to 50 people and 30 vehicles. Vault toilets, drinking water, group firepit and food storage lockers are provided. No electric or water hookups for RVs. Rocky Mountain Recreation (RMR)All developed campground areas on the Forest operate under a concessionaire permit with RMR.
