The Frazier Horse Campground is nestled into a Sonoran desert landscape at Roosevelt Lake, one of Arizona's most outstanding water-based recreation areas. The lake is the largest of four reservoirs within a 2-hour drive of Phoenix and Tucson. The facility has the first lakeside horse camp built in the Southwestern Region of the Forest Service. Several miles of hiking and horse riding trails are accessible from the site. Horses are allowed at this site, and can be ridden south on the Cottonwood Canyon Trail to access the Arizona Trail. There are 11 camp units w/ shade ramadas, fire rings w/ grills, picnic tables, potable water hydrants and a toilet building. Maximum trailer length is 32'. During June, July, and August temperatures reach well over 100¿¿ Fees: Overnight Use: Single Site: $16 per night
